JOB SUMMARY

This position leads, manages and supports the University wide Student Employment Program. Position responsibilities include program visioning, strategic initiatives and system components/applications. The Student Employment Program Manager is responsible for policies, guidelines, training/informational materials and procedures related to student employment activities. This position serves as the university wide liaison for Student Employment and partners with all levels of leaders, managers and supervisors throughout the university.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Vision

  • Develops, implements and manages the strategic vision, initiatives, and messaging associated with Student Employment
    • Creates/manages the student employment program
    • University wide liaison on all Student Employment initiatives/programs

Program Development/Evaluation

  • Develop, recommend, evaluate and implement policies, procedures, and guidelines related to the student employment activities and functions
    • Develops planning goals and objectives for the student employment program
    • Creates and delivers programming related to student employment (competencies, internships, etc.)
    • Refine program elements for consistent program application university wide (student employment pools, wage leveling, departmental student employment initiatives
    • Develop efficient methods to track student data, quantify the success rate of specific workshops, and articulate the value students receive from department services

Program Administration (operational and tactical support/administration)

  • Plan, monitor and review student employment program operations
    • Manage employment processes – posting, acquisition, and on-boarding
    • Create and facilitate supervisor orientations and training programs
    • Develop and facilitate orientation training for all student employees
    • Manage and creates the content of the Student Employment website, manuals, handbooks and other resources
    • Collaborate with various departments to participate in employment initiatives
    • Provide guidance/expertise on Payroll, Financial Aid, and International Student Services concerns related to student employment

Marketing

  • Responsible for university collaboration, representation, marketing related to student employment
  • Educate the university community on student employment initiatives/programs through marketing communication tools

Talent Management

  • Back up to Talent Acquisition team based on workload and business needs.

Other Duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Industrial Relations or closely related field
  • A minimum of 5 years of HR generalist experience to include program/project development and execution

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Talent Management/Recruiting
  • Experience working in a Higher Education setting
  • Proficiency utilizing a variety of complex processes and systems such as: Banner, MurphyOnline, a background screen vendor (Orange Tree), Talent Management System (iCIMS), and Workforce Timekeeping System.
