Product teams have one shared backlog that is inclusive of all product, technology and design work.The Network Security product team's vision is to deliver a world class network security capability through risk analysis and security solutions that protect team members from network based threats while enabling business operations and innovation. To drive this vision, we aim to reduce network attack surface and simplify network threat prevention with automation and cloud enabled services, while providing measurable comprehensive network security solutions that enable visibility, accelerate response and prevention on Target's network.

The Network Security product supports seven services used within the Target enterprise: Firewall, Remote Access VPN, IPS, WAF, SDN Firewall, Web Proxy, and Malware Sandboxing.

As a Lead Product Owner, you will work in the product model and will partner to develop a comprehensive Network Security strategy, related roadmap, and set key business objectives (OKRs) for the Network Security product.  You will need to leverage the knowledge of your product, as well as customer feedback and establish other relevant data points to assess value, develop cases, and prioritize the direction and desired outcomes for your product.

You will be the “voice of the product” to all key stakeholders to ensure that their needs are met and that the product team is getting the direction and support that it needs to be successful.  You will develop and actively maintain a product roadmap and backlog outlining the customer themes, epics, and stories while prioritizing the backlog to focus on the highest impact work for your team and stakeholders. You will encourage the open exchange of information and viewpoints, as well as inspire others to achieve challenging goals and high standards of performance while committing to the organization's direction.  You will foster a sense of urgency to achieve goals and leverage resources to overcome unexpected obstacles, and partner with product teams across the organization to help them achieve their goals while pursuing and completing yours.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Evangelize the value of API-first development and prioritize technical initiatives to make it painless

  • Evangelize the value of platform, technical, and infrastructure initiatives to the company at large

  • Partner with engineering leads to develop a technical strategy for our platform that informs the product strategy and roadmap

  • Provide vision and strategy for Network Security and partner with other product owners to formulate the technical vision and strategy

  • Recruit a dream team of managers and engineers to execute on your vision

  • Expand experimentation capabilities over time to include sampled, quasi,and adaptive techniques

  • Refine the existing product experience and iterate towards a more polished and intuitive test setup and analysis user experience

  • Consistently evaluate our experimentation capabilities and tools against other industry leaders and peers

  • Collaborate with product managers, analytics, engineering, and data science teams to gather feedback and requirements for Target's experimentation platform

  • Maintain and refine a backlog: create user stories and acceptance criteria and prioritize stories to ensure the work focuses on those with maximum business value that align with product strategy

  • Work in scrum team, ensuring the teams are aligned around similar goals and objectives and attending all scrum meetings.

  • Inspire others to achieve challenging goals and high standards of performance while committing to the organization's direction

  • Foster a sense of urgency to achieve goals and leverage resources to overcome unexpected obstacles

  • Ensure stories clearly communicate strong affinity for application development as a target market.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the developer community and the tools and technologies developers use to bring products to market, including: platform-as-a-service, CI/CD, devops, and containers.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the data services the customer and stakeholders need to meet key business objectives and strategies for their products.


About you:
• 4 year degree and 5+ years of experience
• Ability to communicate complex concepts in easy-to-understand terminology
• Able to apply knowledge of how a product is designed, built, deployed, and maintained in an enterprise environment
• Experience with technology and ability to facilitate communication between business and technology teams
• Experience working in an agile environment (e.g. user stories, iterative development, etc.)
• Expert in Network Security technologies supporting a large enterprise
