Description: Designer - Corporate Real Estate
About us:
Target is an iconic brand, a Fortune 50 company and one of America's leading retailers.
Target's distinctive brand love is infused throughout its many physical locations by the Properties teams. We have a direct and positive impact on the real estate, design, construction and maintenance of our stores, distribution centers and headquarters. Are you ready to help strategically grow Target's brand through leading-edge design, development, construction and preservation? Can you effectively balance the efficiencies of a large-design build company with the unique challenges and innovative solutions required by individual sites? Then take your place on one of our Properties teams, and help us make the most of Target's physical assets, both in the U.S. and overseas.
A role in Corporate Real Estate means the opportunity to develop and execute long-term, flexible real estate strategies for Target's non-retail portfolio globally, delivering best-in-class environments and experiences in workspaces to reflect the forward leaning culture of the organization. You will be a key player on a team that manages the lifecycle of the non-retail portfolio, site selection, negotiation of terms for new and existing locations, interpret program and scope details for building out spaces (new and remodel) balancing with schedules and budgets while keeping the internal team and vendor partners aligned with effective communication. You'll drive value through optimized performance, effectiveness, longevity and impact of non-retail facilities. Here, your work will exceed the needs of both Target team members and visitors, delivering a holistically positive and pleasing experience, every time they walk through our doors.
As a Designer, with general direction, you'll assume responsibility for design, space planning, approval, coordination, and implementation for all projects as assigned. You'll demonstrate your excellent communication, presentation, organizational and project management skills on projects such as office remodels/expansions, desk moves/adds/changes, space programming & fit plans for client reviews, material and finish specification, and/or standards updates. You will work closely with others and think strategically and conceptually to design, space plan, produce, and document Feasibility, Schematic, and Design Development documents for all projects; as well as manage assigned projects from conception through the construction and implementation phases. Working cross functionally with construction, architecture, engineering, development of project scope, schedule milestones and cost estimates. In this role, a strong understanding and advocacy of the Target Brand, Office Design Aesthetic and Space Planning is essential. Using your skills and talents, you will create and communicate project details throughout the project lifecycle. You'll have a high level of accountability or coordinate multiple projects, develop and adhere to schedules, prioritize workload while working in a fast paced environment with a continually evolving environment. You will help monitor and adhere to budgets on all projects and have a general understanding of financial impacts of the business. Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.
