Working within Pay and Benefits you'll provide expertise and support to ensure that Target continues to provide competitive compensation and benefit offerings that help us stand out in the sea of other places candidates can choose.

As the Director of Executive Compensation, you will strategically lead your team in the design, implementation and communication of compensation programs for top executives, the Board or Directors, and all long-term incentive participants globally. Use your skills, experience, and talents to be part of groundbreaking thinking and visionary goals. You will report to the SVP of Pay & Benefits and will lead the following bodies of work:
• Design and implement competitive compensation and equity programs that align with Target's purpose and strategy, attract and retain top talent and drive business value while mitigating risk
• Collaborate and coordinate with key decision makers, including the CHRO and SVP of Pay & Benefits, on the design, implementation and communication of base salary, short-term incentive, long-term incentive, and non-cash compensation programs for top executives
• Recommend topics and prepare materials for Human Resources & Compensation Committee meetings
• Prepare the Compensation component of Company's annual proxy statement (CD&A, Compensation tables, etc.) and other public filings
• Lead the annual, off-cycle and new hire long-term incentive grant processes and champion process improvement initiatives related to broader stock plan administration
• Assess external landscape and engage with peers in the industry to understand competitor, business, and regulatory trends that will inform long term road-map of executive compensation priorities for Target  
• Monitor, track and report on legislation, regulations and media articles pertaining to executive pay practices   
• Partner with Corporate Finance, Accounting, Tax and Legal for analysis and reporting purposes
• Lead, coach and develop a highly motivated team and create the long term vision for the team

About you:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 7+ years of Executive Compensation/Compensation/Business experience
• Comfort with influencing senior leadership
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage project deadlines and competing priorities effectively
• Strong critical thinking skills with demonstrated results driving strategic priorities forward
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated success building, leading and developing high performing teams
• Strong business and financial acumen 
• Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
