Cantel Medical is a leading provider of Infection Prevention Products & Services in the healthcare market, specializing in the following operating units:

ENDOSCOPY

Endoscopy procedure disposables include single-use valves and irrigation tubing.  Medical device reprocessing systems, disinfectants, detergents and other supplies are used to disinfect high-level endoscopes.  This segment is operated through MEDIVATORS.

WATER PURIFICATION AND FILTRATION

Water purification systems for dialysis facilities, including hemodialysis dialyzer and reprocessing systems, as well as sterilant and filtration products.  This segment is operated through Mar Cor Purification, Inc. and MEDIVATORS.

HEALTHCARE DISPOSABLES

Single-use, infection prevention products used primarily in the dental market include face masks, sterilization pouches, towels and bibs, tray covers, saliva ejectors, germicidal wipes, plastic cups and disinfectants.  This segment is operated through Crosstex International, Inc.

SUMMARY:                     

Perform a wide variety of payroll processing activities including calculating and recording bi-weekly payroll and Time & Attendance administration. This is a contract position with an expected timeframe of 3-4 months.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for processing of bi-weekly payroll for salaried and hourly employees. Handle various payroll adjustments (ie. garnishments, bonus pay, short term disability, commissions)
  • Prepare and maintain non-wage compensation entries and files (taxable fringe benefits, employee excellence awards, moving expenses, etc.)
  • Prepare monthly accruals and post to GL. Prepare reconciliations of payroll related accounts
  • Reconcile and distribute employee annual T4s, T2200s and ROE as required
  • Track and process benefit and RSP payments
  • Monthly and annual payroll reporting requirements to government and affiliated authorities
  • Prepare periodic reports of earning, taxes and deductions. Prepare periodic payroll related analyses and reports as requested by Managers.
  • Lead, with support from the Director Finance, implementation of ADP Streamline

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR POSITION:

  • Requires degree or diploma in Accounting or related field of study and 3+ years related payroll experience.  CPM designation highly desired.
  • Up to date on Canadian payroll and related tax rules.
  • Automated pay systems experience required (in-depth ADP preferred)
  • Must have Microsoft Excel intermediate to advanced skills and strong with Windows based applications.
  • Must have good organization, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Payroll systems implementation experience highly preferred
  • Position requires maturity and experience to interface with all levels of the organization as well as counterparts and managers in the US.
  • Must be able to take initiative and work well independently.
  • Ability to prioritize and make recommendations.

  • Experience with System conversions
  • Exceptional business acumen acquired in a small/medium and entrepreneurial environment
  • Sage 500 experience
