LEAD ENGINEER, BIG DATA

Bluestem Brands, Inc. has a full-time opportunity for a Lead Engineer, Big Data in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. The Lead Engineer, Big Data uses smart technology to provide timely, accurate, and actionable information to empower Bluestem Brands, Inc. stakeholders enterprise-wide to make the best decisions. This position requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field plus 10 years of related (progressive, post-baccalaureate) experience. Must also have 5 years of experience with each of the following: (1) writing complex coding and scripting for automating infrastructure build processes via CHEF, Jenkins, and Artifactory while leveraging optimal code hygiene practices; (2) enabling data science capabilities (Machine Learning, R, Python) and automated deployments on Big Data technologies; (3) creating a unified BI ecosystem by creating/integrating with data processing frameworks (APIs, hardware mount points, messaging or pub-sub queuing systems); and (4) automation of advanced testing techniques and administration process for auditing, alerting, and notifications that proactively measures failures before they happen.
