DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR - MINNEAPOLIS, MN

Position Description

The Database Administrator will administer, test, and implement computer databases, applying knowledge of database management systems. Coordinate changes to computer databases. Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard computer databases. Test programs and databases, correct errors, and make necessary modifications. Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification, or disclosure. Modify existing databases and database management systems and direct programmers and analysts to make changes. Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system or direct others in coding descriptions. Install, configure, and maintain Oracle 11g and Microsoft SQL server 2003, 2008, 2012, and 2016 databases on Windows, Red Hat Linux, and HP-UNIX servers. Install and configure SQL server 2012 clustered environment with availability groups. Architect, plan, design, develop, and implement system architecture for database servers that provide growth, protection, and operability. Perform backups, restores, refreshes, and replications. Develop shell scripts such as Bash and Korn for database backups, and file system cleanups. Report OS desk space for all environments. Work with Oracle 11g, SQL Server 2003, 2008, 2012, and 2016, Windows SQL Server 2003, 2008, and 2012, Red Hat Linux, HP-UNIX, SQL, PL/SQL, Bash, Korn, Shell, Oracle OEM, and Solar Winds.

Education

Requires a Master's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or closely related field of study.

Required Experience

Qualified candidate must have at least 5 years (60 months) of experience as a Database Administrator or closely related occupation working with the following tools and technologies: Oracle 11g, SQL Server 2003, 2008, 2012, and 2016, Windows SQL Server 2003, 2008, and 2012, Red Hat Linux, HP-UNIX, SQL, PL/SQL, Bash, Korn, Shell, Oracle OEM, and Solar Winds. All experience may be gained concurrently.
