Position Description

This position is responsible to lead all aspects of the Star Ratings programs for Medicare, Exchange and Medicaid. Engage multiple stakeholders across the organization to improve Stars outcomes related to current and potential future Star measures. Coordinate the portfolio of Stars improvement activities throughout the organization to drive improvements in provider engagement, clinical care, data integrity, customer satisfaction, and communication with members and providers.

• Manage a multi-year strategic plan that engages stakeholders across the organization and assigns clear responsibility and authority.

• Build relationships with and leading cross-functional teams to drive Star Ratings initiatives and best practices by promoting innovation, strategy development and implementation excellence.

• Understand and interpret technical specifications for Star Rating programs measures including CAHPS, HOS, Operational and HEDIS measures.

• Chair and facilitate executive-level committee meetings related to Stars, effectively communicating performance progress, new initiatives needed for higher performance, organizational barriers, and expectation of results.

• Develop and implement strategies to engage, educate, and motivate providers to positively impact Star Ratings.

• Drive positive culture transformation and corporate-wide awareness of Stars through education, communication and employee engagement.

• Coordinate and support the following activities as dictated by each initiative or project (as needed): vendor evaluation and selection, data analysis, business requirement development, budget management, and process improvement facilitation.

• Acquire and maintain knowledge of industry practices, trends, and methodologies through readings, networking, and attending seminars.

• Other project and duties as assigned.


Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred; demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Required Experience

Five years of project and/or program management experience in a health plan environment. Two or more years of experience leading large initiatives and teams.

Preferred Experience

Practical experience in, and/or knowledge of, managed care, government programs, or health plans is strongly preferred. Experience leading and coordinating cross functional teams. Experience managing multiple projects at one time.
