Job Details

St. Scholastica is a vibrant, growing independent private college in Duluth with extended campuses throughout Minnesota.  For over 100 years we have been preparing nurses for successful careers in healthcare.  Our programs respond to the health care needs of both rural and urban areas, especially underserved populations, and residents with mental health needs.  Faculty teach nursing students through the lens of the Benedictine Values: Community, Hospitality, Respect, Stewardship, Love of Learning.

We are currently seeking a qualified nursing professional for a full-time faculty position in the post-baccalaureate nursing program; rank and tenure status commensurate with qualifications. This is a full-time, eleven-month faculty position with teaching spread across three semesters. Area of need is Medical/Surgical.

Faculty responsibilities include teaching of clinical, lab, and online medical-surgical nursing courses in the post-baccalaureate nursing program along with academic advising. Successful candidate will travel to the St. Cloud campus for lab intensives 2-3 times a semester. Professional activity and college and community service also is expected. Will contribute to and participate in fostering a culture of inclusion in support of College diversity goals.

The position requires a Master’s degree in Nursing (DNP or PhD preferred or ability to complete DNPor PhD within five years of hire); experience with curriculum development and teaching (clinical, lab and online). Demonstrated cross-cultural communications skills and competency; and competence in working with diverse populations.
