Summary:

The Commodities Production Supervisor plays a crucial role in supporting our purpose of creating an exception customer experience by providing leadership to commodities team members.  Their focus will be to ensure the team has the tools and support it needs to fulfill orders while focusing on Safety, Quality, and Production. The supervisor will implement improvement opportunities to manage work flow, promote safety, provide training, and ensure compliance to company policy in the distribution center while supporting a positive work environment.  This individual is a self starter and a leader who exemplifies the company culture by setting an example for all employees. Their leadership should promote our culture, our 5 P’s and our purpose of creating an exception customer experience by transforming what a distributor can do.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

  • Drive company safety initiatives and ensure compliance
  • Provide not only supervision, but leadership, coaching and mentoring to team members
  • Trains, develops and mentors Commodities Team Leads
  • Ensure the accuracy of customer orders
  • Oversee picking and transfer queue
  • Manage shipping supplies in department to budget
  • Keep team members focused and on track
  • Manage department production metrics
  • Encourage creativity, risk-taking, and constant improvements
  • Escalate issues which cannot be resolved by the team
  • Coordinate with delivery team to streamline customer orders
  • May provide back up support to team members
  • Partner with sales, the Commodities Manager and the Distribution Center Manager to ensure quality customer service
  • Ensure all team members are properly trained
  • Drive for continuous improvement
  • Assist in warehouse maintenance (in coordination with facilities team)
  • Promote our culture and 5 P’s

Job Requirements/Specifications:

  • Minimum of a two-year degree, 4 year degree preferred
  • 3+ years of distribution center leadership experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of OSHA safety requirements
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role managing a team of five or more preferred
  • Electrical product knowledge is preferred
  • Ability to lift 70 lbs required; lift 100 lbs at times
  • Powered lift equipment (forklift, reach truck, order picker, pallet jack etc.) experience required
  • Demonstrated computer skills
  • Ability to work with Excel documents
  • Knowledge of Eclipse and RF Scan is preferred
