OVERVIEW

The University of St. Thomas Facilities Management Department is accepting applications for a Building Service Worker.

Duties include cleaning assigned buildings including offices, athletic facilities, classrooms and public restrooms in accordance with university safety and quality standards; setting up rooms for events; snow removal and occasional heavy lifting of supplies, equipment, and furniture.

The pay for this position is $17.92/hour.

This position will begin as a third shift (11:30 PM - 8:00 AM) with the possibility of weekends required.

This is a full-time, benefits eligible position covered by a collective bargaining agreement. QUALIFICATIONS

Required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid Driver's License. Successfully completing a criminal background check and pre-employment physical are conditions of employment for this position.

We are looking for candidates who can read and understand instructions for set-ups and safety procedures with attention to detail. Experience and working knowledge of proper custodial/janitorial cleaning procedures preferred.

This position is in a collective bargaining unit. New employees must satisfy a 90 working day probationary period and join the union after its satisfactory completion. The position is considered emergency essential. If campus closes due to an emergency or inclement weather, emergency essential employees still need to report and complete any regularly scheduled hours.
