Anoka-Hennepin Adventures Plus is currently accepting applicants for Adventures Plus - Child Care Assistant - Lane 2 – 196 days/6 hours a day. (Applications will be accepted on an on-going basis.)
Locations: Will be determined based on on-going vacancies.
Start Date: ASAP after offer of employment.
Adventures Plus is a child-care program providing before and after school care for elementary age students and is located in various elementary schools throughout the District.
Duties: Lane 2 Child Care Assistants supervise and interact with school-age children before and after school and on school release days, perform a group leadership role which will include some planning and prep work, support children with special needs according to their inclusion plan, and perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. 120 hours of education in a child related area -or- 12 quarter credits in a child related area. Proof of CPI certification, or the ability to pass the CPI class. 1040 hours of paid experience working with children. Current First Aid certification or must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment. Ability to maintain regular attendance, which includes completing an assigned day. Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds. Ability to perform position responsibilities including physical factors, work devices and materials handling, data functions, and people functions.
Rate of Pay: $15.09/hour; $15.60/hour with AA degree. (Insurance benefit eligible.)
