Position Responsibilities

The Department of Interprofessional Education ( IPE ) at St. Catherine University invites applications for a temporary assistant professor. This position is responsible for teaching interprofessional education courses from the 2019-2020 academic year to undergraduate healthcare students from a variety of health care disciplines regarding interprofessional or team-based practice and collaboration.

Responsibilities:
• Teach interprofessional education courses for undergraduate students that include a focus on the foundations of teams, roles and responsibilities of members of the healthcare team, opportunities and challenges in aging, and interprofessional evidence-based practice. The didactic courses include the principles of teamwork that prepare students with the skills and competencies for team-based care.
• This faculty member will primarily co-teach IPE courses with other interprofessional education faculty and work collaboratively to facilitate the IPE , team-based courses.
• Teaching responsibilities include lecture, facilitating team classroom experiences and service learning components if required, grading assigned work, and providing student feedback.

Position Qualifications

Qualifications:
• Doctoral degree in a healthcare related field, such as nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, social work, psychology, exercise science, nutrition, and other health care disciplines, or significant progress toward a doctoral degree ( ABD with an expected defense date).
• One year of experience practicing in a healthcare discipline, and six months of teaching in higher education or advising graduate projects experience.
• Education or a practice background in gerontology preferred.
• Experience in teaching interprofessional education or team-based education, and service learning preferred.
• Experience using an educational learning platform preferred, particularly D2L.
