Job Details

Job Purpose: The primary focus of this role is to assist with assembling tools in the tool room.  Duties: • Understands internal practices, guidelines, systems, and procedures.
• Maintains calibration of tools and equipment in the shop and the tool room.
• Identifies tools, fixtures and equipment used in testing and assembly. 
• Prepares and set up test equipment. 
• Practices safe work habits and good housekeeping; maintaining the cleanliness of the Tool Room environment and all tooling. 
• Executes corrective actions and preventative actions according to safety regulations before issues arise.
• Ensures all tools and equipment comply with the most up to date requirements set by the client.
• Ensures that all materials necessary for the maintenance of the work area are in stock and supplied to the floor. This includes hand wipes, solvents, cleaning solutions, etc.
• Assists more experienced technicians to ensure that all equipment, tooling, and spare parts are prepared.
• Uses material handling equipment to move parts and components from one work or storage area to another as required. 
• Prepares equipment for shipping.
• Understands preventative maintenance requirements for shop tooling and equipment. 
• Repairs toque tools and electrical components. 
• Understands procedures and best practices on safety and quality to prepare for next level.
• Assists other technicians as assigned in more advanced functions as part of training. 
• Assists other technicians with audits as required by management
• Tool room shall never be unattended unless otherwise directed by management.
• Maintain training and CBT requirements ensuring 100% compliance. • Assemble pipes • Attach hand tools to belts • Trap or tether tools • Plastic wrap tools

Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent required. 
• Generally less than two year of experience in the field.
• Must possess mechanical aptitude. Six months to one year mechanical experience preferred.
• Must have follow through skills, detail oriented and well organized. 
• Must take proactive approach to change and change implementation. 
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a high volume environment and be able to work well with others. 
• Tends the Tool Room window and issues out tools per Assembly Technician’s requests - Sorts and places materials or tools on racks, shelves or bins according to predetermined locations.
• Operates manual or mechanical devices and stocks inventory shelves.
• Perform 5S task to maintain work area.
• Electronic repair awareness.
• Awareness of hydraulics and hydraulic equipment.
• Ability to use personal computer and/or workstation.
• PC skills including Excel spreadsheets, word processing, Adobe Acrobat required.
• Ability to operate forklifts. 
• Must pass all classroom and hands-on evaluations required in the new hire training program. 
• Able to assist with tool repairs.
• High aptitude for customer service responsiveness.
• Flexible schedule, availability for weekends and night shift are a must.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Will spend 100% of time in a workshop environment. Exposure to hazards such as noise, heavy equipment, temperature extremes, chemicals, high pressure equipment, etc. while working in Tool Room, assembly areas, and service applications. May be subject to long working hours.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Extended periods of standing at window and during assisting with repairs and tests. Some lifting, pushing, walking and climbing in shop or field locations. Minimal sitting for computer work may be required.
