Job Details

Pro Staff is looking for Lens Assemblers that are willing to work in the Plano area immediately. All interested candidates should have a minimum 1 year experience mounting lens into different type of eye glasses frames .

 Morning shift - M-F

General Summary: Expert Bench associate who is responsible for proficiently performing all of the various tasks within the Bench department. Capable of exceeding expectations at all stations within the department. 

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

•      Deblock – Placed padded block in deblocker and remove block from lens.

•      Block – Scan barcode on tray. Place padded block in liner, place lens in liner and line appropriately.

•      Edging – Scan barcode, chuck lens in edger and push start.

•      Safety Bevel – Roll edges on bevel wheel to eliminate sharpness.

•      Wash – After loading wash racks, place in ultrasonic for 1 minute, quick rinse, then final rinse.

•      Insert Lens into Frames – Metal Frame: remove screw, insert lens, replace screw. Zyle Frame: heat frame to expand and insert lens.

•      Inspection – Check lens for defects, pits, scars. Place lens in topcon. Check for correct power, axis, prism, etc.

•      Hand Bevel – Edge lens down by hand to reduce size. Take out starts and chips, roll edges.

•      Safety Stamp – Place lens on appropriate stamp and push down.

•      Sort Trays – Sort trays for appropriate areas at edging, deblocking, beveling, tinting and insertion.

•      Tint – Place lens in lens holder and tint to specified color.

 

Position Requirements:

•      No specific education level required.

•      At least 1 year of direct or related experience required.

•      Must be able to read and write English.

•      Routine, simple job requiring some mental effort.

•      Requires continuous walking, standing and moving about or continuous sitting depending on the production station.

•      Continuous movement and twisting of wrist.

•      Occasionally lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing 0-10 lbs.

•      Frequent bending and twisting of waist and neck.

•      Frequent repetitive use of hands is required, which includes grasping and fine manipulation. 

 

Working Conditions:

Working environment is generally favorable.  Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc.
