Manufacturing company in NW Houston has an immediate opening for a Material Handler Group Lead.   This position is responsible for assisting the supervisor with the team to meet established goals for quality, productivity and efficiency. Also responsible for assisting the supervisor with the assurance of safety and quality issues.  This position is a direct hire opportunity.

Work hours: 3:30pm - 4:00am ( 2nd shift; 12 hours per day) 
  RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for assisting all new employees on methods and techniques required in the department.
• Make random inspections and periodic audits of processes.
• Assist in training team members on processes and procedures.
• Assist in troubleshooting and other items that team members need help with.
• When applicable, fill in for team members who must leave work area leave for a short period of time.
• Assist in the review and resolution of quality non conformances
• Assist supervisor in verifying team members are sustaining 5S and have properly cleaned work areas at the end of the work shift.
• Constant monitoring of team members work areas for unsafe work practices, equipment or clothing and report any findings to the supervisor.
• Assist the supervisor with planning, assigning and directing work.
• Communicate with other departments
• Other duties as assigned

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Prefer 2 to 3 years in related work experience.
• Manufacturing knowledge
• Communicate effectively, clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
• Self starter, detail oriented and organized
• Exceptional problem solving skills
