Legislative Assistant
Full-time Legislative Assistant position with the DFL Caucus of the Minnesota House of Representatives provides a variety of office, legislative, and constituent service duties for assigned DFL members. Duties include, but are not limited to, scheduling, constituent services, some casework and research, and bill tracking.
Position requires excellent typing, spelling, and grammatical skills, strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Position involves frequent public contact and regular communication with constituents, interested individuals, and legislative staff. Strong customer service and good communication skills required. PC experience and knowledge of Microsoft Word necessary. Understanding of state government and the legislative process helpful, but not required. Must have the ability to work long and irregular hours especially during session. BA/BS desired.
Entry salary $1,554.00 semi-monthly, commensurate with experience. Excellent benefits.
Committee Legislative Assistant
Full-time Committee Legislative Assistant position provides administrative support duties for an assigned committee(s) with the DFL Caucus of the Minnesota House of Representatives. Committee responsibilities are in addition to providing a variety of office, legislative, and constituent service duties for assigned DFL members.
Committee duties include organizing hearing materials, recording committee actions, keeping committee minutes, and preparing committee reports. Committee duties are in addition to scheduling, constituent services, some casework and research, and bill tracking.

Position involves frequent public contact and regular communication with committee members, constituents, interested individuals, and legislative staff.
