Position Summary

The Art and Art History Department at St. Catherine University invites applications for a part-time Administrative Assistant position (0.5 FTE ). Primary responsibility is to provide appropriate support to the Department of Art and Art History (70%) and the Catherine G. Murphy Gallery (30%) with limited support to the Music and Theater Departments. This position reports to the chair of the Department of Art and Art History. This position is approximately 22 hours/week (46 weeks) from mid-August through June.

Responsibilities:
• Office reception and assistance to faculty, students, staff and the external community.
• Administrative and office support to the Art and Art History Department and the Catherine G. Murphy Gallery along with limited support to the Music and Theater Departments.
• Calendar and building schedule management.
• Committee and meeting support, including taking and transcribing minutes.
• Records management and maintaining office supplies.
• Data entry, budget and information support.
• Assisting with coordination of gallery and department programming.
• Student worker coordination.
• Program/project support and coordination as needed, including support for the Women's Art Institute summer intensive and the Amy Sears Visiting Artist Program.

Required Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED .
• Three years of administrative assistant experience.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
• Efficient computer skills with competency and some advanced skills in the Microsoft Office suite, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher along with the G Suite.

• Self-motivated and detail-oriented with demonstrated experience in handling sensitive and confidential materials in a gracious and professional manner.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and with a team
• Ability to multi-task while attending to detail and priority in a fast-paced environment.
• Interest in or experience with the arts or arts organizations.
