The Target Distribution Technologies team designs and creates innovative solutions for a variety of applications, platforms and environments. As an Engineer on the Distribution Technologies team, you will leverage your technical and business acumen in an effort to provide superior development and production support for our supply chain distribution environment. In addition, you will drive and participate in efforts to ensure platform stability in an effort to maximize performance of our environments.

  • Develop infrastructure as code
  • Partner with application owners/teams to understand application and business needs and level of service (LOS)
  • Provide infrastructure and application high availability (HA) architecture
  • Provide infrastructure and application performance tuning automation
  • Performing problem resolution for complex issues including root cause analysis, and outlining resolution options
  • Providing off-hours support, when required, for critical production issues.
  • Ensuring system documentation is complete per Target Technology Services (TTS) standards
  • Ensuring high quality by participating in and following TTS processes
    • Tracking time and fulfilling required status reporting requirements
    • Estimating tasks for project planning and setting timelines
    • Participating in the creation and execution of project plans
    • Providing management and other team members clear and timely updates on status of assigned responsibilities
    • Staying current with technology and evaluating its impact on new and existing applications and platforms
    • Demonstrating growing application and technical knowledge
    • Demonstrating growing business and financial knowledge
    • Providing technical expertise in infrastructure support throughout all phases of break-fix (problem identification, resolution, test, deployment, and turnover)
    • Participating in strategic planning (business and technology trends)
Required Experience / Skills
  • BA/BS or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years work experience developing micro services
  • Has in-depth knowledge of state-of-the art engineering technical approaches in design, build, testing, debugging problems as required by domain
  • Maintains technical knowledge within areas of expertise
  • Stays current with new and evolving technologies via formal training and self-directed education
  • Experience with:
    • Automating infrastructure / infrastructure as code
    • Automation and software development languages and CI/CD technologies including or similar to: Ruby, PowerShell, Python, Java, Koltin, Groovy, Javascript, Golang, OpenAPI/Swagger, GIT, Jenkins/Drone, Chef, Ansible

Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Familiarity with infrastructure technologies.
    • Compute hardware, operating systems, hypervisors, storage arrays
