Job Details
Immediate opportunity for a Cost Analyst. The position will serve as a key member of the Finance team providing cost analysis, customer profitability, forecasting and budgeting and analysis to help inform day to day decision making. It is a very exciting time to join our company as we enter a new era of growth and expansion across new markets, geographic locations, and service offerings.
What you’ll be doing:
As part of the finance organization, you will collaborate within the finance and operations organizations to ensure costs, actual and forecasts, for all of product lines. In addition, the role will help support the budgeting and forecasting process for all locations, provide analytical support to the plant controllers and assist in building a customer profitability model for the organization. This is a role for a high-energy individual who can function in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with multiple locations.
Key areas of responsibility to include:
Build strong partnerships within finance and operations to ensure timely and accurate cost data, including related product cost analysis and inventory account reconciliations.
Support corporate finance and accounting in the monthly close process to ensure proper accounting treatment of transactions and thorough financial reporting and analysis of results.
Support all compliance and controls and any other internal or external financial audits.
Identify and support continual process and procedure improvements.
Partner with Plant Controllers to build a customer profitability model that combines both metals and plastics customers
Assist with the budgeting and forecasting process. Make recommendations on level of detail in each process.
Evaluate the accuracy related to bill of materials for cost forecasting and maintenance.
Analyze production variances, including fluctuations between forecast and actual, with understanding, explanation, and resolution of same.
Identify and partner on cost optimization strategies.
Build ad hoc analysis and communication for strategic Operations or Finance initiatives.
Partner with IT to develop analytics in Power BI platform for reporting
Identify, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
What we need to see:
BS/BA in Accounting or Finance, MBA or advanced degree in accounting or finance a plus.
Minimum 3-5 years of product cost in a manufacturing environment
Deep understanding of manufacturing operations, inventory and cost accounting.
Experience with manufacturing ERP systems.
Background with SQL desired, but not required
Expert analytical skills and financial modeling techniques, with ability to build and convey business insight.
Ability to multi-task, work independently and in teams to identify and tackle problems enthusiastically and clearly identify key issues of importance for team resolution.
