Position Responsibilities

The Department of Physics at St. Catherine University invites applicants for a temporary adjunct faculty position beginning on September 4th, 2019.

Responsibilities:
The sole responsibility of this position is teaching PHYS 1050 Conceptual Physics for the fall semester 2019. Students in this course are primarily pre-sonography majors. Typical enrollment is 22-28 students. Lectures are held 8:15 - 9:20 a.m., Monday/Wednesday/Friday beginning September 4th, 2019. Finals week is the week of December 16th, 2019. This is a lecture-only position; lab sections will be covered by other members in department.

Duties:
• Design interactive lectures/activities for each class period.
• Hold office hours at least two hours per week.
• Grade homework, tests, daily assignments, and other assignments as assigned.
• Keep D2L course website up to date with all required class materials.
• Assign grades and monitor student progress.

Position Qualifications

Requirements: Master's degree in Physics is required, Ph.D. preferred. Two years of physics teaching experience is preferred, especially at the baccalaureate level. Experience with D2L (or another learning management system) preferred.
