Description:
Target's Dojo is hiring for a Senior Agile Coach.

About the work

The Dojo exists to make Target more effective, efficient, and joyful by partnering with teams and leaders to educate, connect, and coach the enterprise as One Team. We commit to make everyone that engages with us measurably better.

As part of the Dojo Coaches, the work is to coach, facilitate, train, and mentor a variety of teams in ongoing improvement. You will work with our larger Dojo coaching network and clients to help define, deliver, and learn from immersive events of varying duration. Sometimes this will be a single scrum team improving how they define and deliver software, or maybe you'll engage with a multi-team product group working on a customer or operational opportunity. One week you may facilitate a group of leaders to alignment, and the next teach workshop that inspires people to new ways of thinking and working. We work across diverse roles, lines of business, and at all levels of the organization.

Additionally, this work requires you to help improve Dojo services and practices as both part of a team, network, and movement towards Agility. Ultimately, your work will make Target a more joyful place for our team members, guests, communities, and shareholders - and we can't wait to have you join us!

About the team

Our current Dojo Coaches team is made up of 6 people from diverse professional backgrounds. We are former developers, scrum masters, product owners, leaders, and facilitators. We have domain knowledge in retail, software development, lean, marketing, entrepreneurship, education, and nonprofits. We work within a bigger network of coaches with additional skills including DevOps, technical best practices, and more.

Our services to Target grow and shift as the organization does, and our current offerings include:

-> Agile education - Agile 101, Agile team training, Agile leadership training, Dojo Challenges, consulting in Scrum and Kanban

-> Product education - Product training, definition/discovery, and consulting

-> Facilitation - Custom designed sessions that meet our client's desired outcomes, leveraging techniques such as story mapping, problem and opportunity alignment, graphic facilitation, and cultivating shared understanding

-> Team building - Immersive activities using tools like games and play to build clarity, understanding, and cooperation

Who we're looking to hire

You have demonstrated excellence in at least one of the following areas: Agile, scrum, product management, coaching, design thinking, user experience, product design, team building, Lean, customer experience, training, facilitation, visual communication, and/or leadership development.

Dojo coaches need to sense and respond to group situations, requiring exceptional listening, discernment, experience design, and written and verbal communication skills. Our ideal hire has a diverse and ever-expanding toolkit of methods to get groups to shared understanding, possibly including: Story mapping, product and team chartering, forming working agreements, visualizing work, product definition/discovery, wicked problem solving, appreciative inquiry, innovation games, or others. We welcome a diverse range of professional and educational backgrounds.
