JOB POSITION: Senior Engineer

LOCATION: 33 South 6th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55402

DUTIES: Apply the appropriate software engineering patterns to build robust and scalable systems; develop and gain insight into software application infrastructure; design and build scalable data pipelines using Apache Kafka; distill abstract software architecture into concrete designs and influence infrastructure; apply and maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies within domain; evaluate new technologies and participate in decisionmaking; develop and implement infrastructure automation for configuring and service management; support a continuous delivery model through GitHub, Drone, Artifactory, and Spinnaker/Terraform; provide technical oversight and coach others to resolve complex and severe technical issues; and lead disaster recovery activities and contribute to disaster recovery planning. Tools and technologies used: Apache Kafka, Kubernetes, Terraform, Artifactory, GitHub, Linux, Spinnaker, Drone, Ruby, Shell scripting, Google Cloud Platform, Sensu, Jenkins, Drone, Grafana, ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana), Influx, and Python.

REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Master's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and at least three (3) years of experience in system / interface design or development (any title) including at least two (2) years of experience building scalable data pipelines with Apache Kafka and using ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana), Grafana, GitHub, Jenkins, Drone, Spinnaker, Ruby, Shell scripting, Sensu, and Influx. In the alternative, the employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and at least five (5) years of post-bachelor's, progressive experience in system / interface design or development (any title) including at least two (2) years of experience building scalable data pipelines with Apache Kafka and using ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana), Grafana, GitHub, Jenkins, Drone, Spinnaker, Ruby, Shell scripting, Sensu, and Influx.
