The Senior Manager will be a key member of the Corporate Development team and lead the financial support for the Corporate Development VP and Senior Directors.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct valuation analyses and business/integration case modeling in order to provide detailed guidance regarding potential acquisitions, investments, partnerships, divestitures
- Support all aspects of executing corporate development transactions
- Support pipeline initiatives by preparing company profiles and summaries utilizing primary and secondary research materials
- Facilitate and manage acquisition and investment processes with cross-functional groups including Enterprise Strategy, Merchandising, Technology, Finance, Legal, Human Resources, Supply Chain / Fulfillment, Site Operations, and Marketing
- Understand complex transactions, including legal, financial and tax
- Research competitive information as well as key concepts and approaches with business partner(s) to raise the overall level of strategic thinking throughout the company
Reporting/Working Relationships
- Reports to Senior Director, Corporate Development
- Interact with senior executives. Working teams will include members from all levels, functions, and operating companies within Target Corporation
Job Requirements
- Strong financial analysis and structuring skills, including discounted cash flow modeling, leveraged buyout analyses, and in-depth understanding of financial statements
- Strong track record of deal analysis and execution
- Demonstrate ability to influence team members and business partners to address complex business challenges
- Ability to assimilate information quickly and accurately
- Demonstrate a consistent ability to contribute thought leadership in areas of conceptual and practical business management
- Ability to synthesize and clearly communicate highly complex findings to focus on the critical issues an actionable opportunities
Experience and Educational Requirements
- MBA (preferred) with a minimum of 2+ years strong corporate development, investment banking, private equity, and/or other transaction experience
- Experience working with a range of outside partners (bankers, accountants, lawyers) and counterparties on transactions
- Experience developing business cases (high level and detailed)
- Ability to interpret complex information and tailor communication of results for relevance to diverse audiences
- Strong conceptual skills, including flexibility in approach to problem-solving and ability to push beyond the obvious to find innovative solutions
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to quickly establish rapport, credibility, trust and respect with peers, team members and executives
- Prior experience in retail, or in a consumer-oriented industry highly desirable
