JOB SUMMARY

The Coordinator II will support recruitment and programming activities for the Habiger Institute Latino Scholars program and Educational Apprenticeship program.

This is a one year term assignment, dependent on business needs. The anticipated hours for this position are 10-12 hours per week.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Facilitate the activities of the Latino Scholars program specifically related to formation meetings, recruitment and outreach to other campus entities serving Latino students.
  • Coordinate the pathway program mentoring high school students from Latino parishes aspiring to higher education at St. Thomas. This will also include expanding outreach to other parishes identified within the archdiocese who are interested in the pathway program.
  • Support the Educational Apprenticeship program through student recruitment and advising during placements. Create links between Latino Scholars and the Apprenticeship program.
  • Establish a Latino alumni database to track graduates from the Latino Scholars program in support of foundation funding of the Latino Scholars program.
  • Serve as liaison with the archdiocesan Latino ministry office and other established Latino outreach services promoting higher Catholic education.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or the equivalent
  • Three years of administrative support experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Administrative support experience in higher education
  • Experience working with Latino culture to include the ability to speak basic conversational Spanish
  • Experience in educational administration and curriculum development
  • Experience with spiritual, intellectual and moral formation based on principles of Catholic social thought
