POSITION: Associate Instructional Specialist, Upward Bound Program-TRIO

DUTIES: The Upward Bound Coordinator is to provide coordination of activities and services related to program goals and will provide leadership and support for students to achieve their academic goals and attend postsecondary education. This role includes academic, personal, and career counseling to federally qualifying students.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:        

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Education, or another related field.
  • Experience working with high school students

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • Experience supervising staff
  • Experience in the design, implementation, and evaluation of academic and diagnostic programs and activities for high school students
  • Experience working with low-income and potential first generation high school students
  • Demonstrated skills in motivating students and staff
  • TRIO experience

SALARY:  UW-S offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including health insurance coverage for their eligible dependents.          

INFORMATION:    Upward Bound is a federally funded TRIO program that identifies and assists promising high school students who face barriers in completing high school and enrolling in a post secondary institution. It also provides support services to potential students who would be unlikely to pursue higher education without extra support.
