Job Details

Pro Staff is looking for dedicated individuals to work with one of the world's largest manufacturers of structural core materials, including marine, wind energy, transport, and aerospace.

We are currently seeking 3rd shift Extrusion Lead for immediate openings in our Desoto manufacturing facility.  Please review the information below and if interested submit your resume.

 

Shift:

3rd shift (7pm-7:30am). 4 days on and 3 days off

Pay Rate

$16-$18 depending on experience

 

Job Summary:

The primary responsibilities of the Extrusion Shift Lead include daily operation and basic maintenance of the Extrusion and Reprocess (Agglomerator) lines. Responsibilities also include managing the Extrusion raw block and regrind inventories.

 

Responsibilities:

Extrusion Line

Lead Extrusion activities including startup, production, and shutdown

  • Prepare for Foam Extrusion Runs
  • Stage all raw materials
  • Clean and set die
  • Clean all extruder equipment
  • Production Runs
  • Lead extrusion activities as primary operator for all startups and transitions
  • Operate forklifts, dryers, TCU’s, water treatment system, chiller, calibrator, puller, cutsaw and ovens as needed
  • Operate extruder using Wonderware interface
  • Enter production log data into spreadsheets and databases
  • Work regular 12-hour shifts, including weekends, as an operator during production runs
  • Assist in extrusion process improvement efforts and troubleshooting
  • Train all new operators in the Divinycell F Extrusion Process
  • Post-Production Run
  • Lead all cleanup and shutdown activities as needed
  • Inspect and stack material per internal requirements
  • Use forklift and ovens to dry all products as required by recipe
  • Stage all material in racks and relocate for transportation as needed by finishing
  • Log all inventory movement in inventory management systems

     

    Reprocessing

    Lead Divinycell F Reprocessing activities during Extrusion down-times

  • Grinding
  • Assist Grinder Operator for smooth operation and repair of grinder
  • Ensure grinding inventory is neatly organized and accounted for
  • Agglomeration
  • Act as primary operator for Agglomerator, ensuring continuous recycle production
  • Perform routine maintenance, cleaning and troubleshooting activities
  • Recycle Inventory Management
  • Neatly organize and account for all reprocessed foam inventory

    Academic / Educational Training Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Forklift certification required/or ability to obtain forklift certification
  • Employee will be subject to ITAR regulations
  • Minimum:
  • 4 years’ extrusion/extruder operations or related manufacturing of Thermoplastic foams
  • Preferred:
  • Associates Degree in polymer technology preferred or 10 years of direct extrusion experience
  •  

    Required Skills / Experience

  • Basic computer skills, including data entry and spreadsheet manipulation
  • Able to read, write and communicate in the English language
  • Able to follow recipes and written / verbal instructions
  • General math and algebra skills
  • Able to use English and metric tape measures
  • Able to use small hand tools: Allen wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, ratchets, and wrenches
  • Able to use measuring tools: calculator and calipers
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including 12-hour shifts, weekends or overtime as required in support of customer demand
  • Identify and implement process improvements
  • Stoop, lift, and bend with 35 to 50 pounds in a continuous and repetitive motion.
  • Work safely and follow company procedures when working at all times.
  • Be able to stand for 8 to 12 hours a day while running equipment without sitting down except on breaks and lunch times.
  • Be able to maintain attendance in accordance with company policy.
  • Be able to maintain good housekeeping practices and standards.
  • Able to read, comprehend and perform to Quality System Documentation
  • Responsible to maintain housekeeping requirements within assigned areas
  • Understand and abide by company policy
