Job Description:

Areas of Responsibility:

Job Summary:

Manages fast-paced, high-volume Hotel Operations Departments to include Transportation department and Front Office operation. Responsible for strategy and execution of Team Member transportation options designed to maximize Team Member accessibility. Responsible for creating, developing and implementing an effective strategy of organization for hotel and transportation functions, ensuring maximum guest service and satisfaction. Accountable for meeting projected hotel occupancy and associated revenues.

 

Budget/Asset Responsibilities:

Prepares and maintains departments and 766 hotel room nights budgets. Executes necessary controls to ensure compliance with budget. Reviews monthly profit and loss statements and explains variances. Responsible for all casino comp coupons and complimentaries issued and redeemed within the department.

 

Job Duties:

  1. Position tasked to ensure that all of our guests stays within the hotel are enjoyable. Coordinates with Department Managers and Assistant Managers ensuring that appropiate decision are being made and daily work flow is performed in an organized fashion to include both arrival and departure experiences.
  2. Performs regular inspection of all areas, i.e., Porte Cochere, public areas, guest reception desk and hotel lobby, etc., to ensure that quality standards are being met and needed repairs are being performed.
  3. Analyze HotSOS trends and coordinate amongst departments training to overcome any obstacles impeding guest service. Prepares implements and updates hotel policies and procedures with department to ensure compliance.
  4. Manages, coordinates and supports the department managers, Assistant Managers and Supervisors to enhance all Leadership Development and Communication Playbook key drivers (One-on-One, Team Huddle, Go-and-See Walks.)
  5. Develops departmental budget/capital expenditures and tracks hotel performance. Analyzes and adjusts short-range hotel forecasts monthly. Participates in the development of monthly room rate promotions and room pricing in coordination with Casino and Marketing departments to ensure hotel goals are met. Develops cost savings ideas and revenue enhancing opportunities. Prepares month-end reconciliation reports. Reviews monthly profit and loss statements and explains variances.
  6. Oversees staffing to include: hiring, training/development, performance management, and discipline of assigned team members, including terminations. Approves department team member schedules based on labor standards, coordinates job duties and assignments with department managers and reviews payroll. Recommends, creates and updates departmental training manuals.
  7. Manages "day-of" room inventory blocks for Casino, Little Six, Group Sales, Business Council, and Board of Directors to ensure maximum occupancy.
  8. Supports Department managers and Assistant Managers with responce to guest and team member concerns to ensure proper resolution of issues within the scope of authority to ensure 100% satisfaction.
  9. Occasional tasks.

 


Requirements:
  1. Combination of post secondary education in business management, hospitality or related field and hotel front office and transportation management experience to equal seven years.
  2. Five years of progressive leadership/management experience.
  3. Five years of supervisory/management experience within a full-service hotel.
  4. Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact with a diverse group of people.
  5. Extensive knowledge of full-service hotel operations and experience working in a fast paced environment.
  6. Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and to prioritize and organize multiple projects.
  7. Advanced proficiency in word-processing, spreadsheets, and electronic mail software. Experience in hotel property management computer software. (Opera, Travel Tripper, RainMaker HotSOS)
  8. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  9. Excellent management and decision making skills.
  10. Experience in high volume operation with a large number of team members.
