BI DEVELOPER

Position Description

This position is responsible to design, develop, and maintain reports and universes in the data warehouse environment using the BusinessObjects suite of products along with other business intelligence software and tools. Collaborate with multiple departments to develop standard, self-service, and ad-hoc reports that meet their needs using the most appropriate tool. Mentor HCE or other analysts with training and assistance in BusinessObjects or other Business Intelligence tools as needed. Serve as a resource for understanding data and processes within the UCare Enterprise Data Warehouse.

• Collaborate with HCE and other department experts to take a lead role in development of BusinessObjects or other BI reports and ad-hoc analytics. Tasks include requirement gathering, development, testing and maintenance.

• Collaborate with with Data Architechts and ETL developers to design, develop, test, maintain, and support the data architecture to ensure optimal performance and reporting flexibility while maintaing data warehouse quality standards.

• Collaborate with business experts to take a lead role in the design BusinessObjects universes that meet the needs of the business and creates quality and consistency of reporting across multiple areas.

• Assist in the creation and maintenance of UCare operational reporting to track enrollment and other metrics as part of standard reporting.

• Provide mentoring, guidance and training on how to most effectively use BI reporting and analysis tools including but not limited to BusinessObjects, SQL, and MedeAnalytics.

• Acquire and maintain expertise in UCare data elements and how those elements relate to specific UCare product lines.

• Other projects and duties as assigned.

Education

BA/BS in business, technology, or related field; demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Required Experience

Five years' experience in BusinessObjects suite of products with an emphasis on Report Development (WEBI and Dashboards) and Universe Design along with experience with BusinessObjects administration. Proven advanced skills in SQL also required. Experience working with business experts to evaluate complex data requirements.

Preferred Experience

Experience working in the healthcare industry and experience with additional Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau or SSRS preferred.
