  • Help design, implement, maintain and enhance:
    • Building automation and control systems for power and cooling
    • Monitoring and alerting for power distribution to compute, storage and network devices installed in the data center
    • Automated inventory management for equipment and materials
    • Automation of updates to asset and configuration management records in support of Change Management
    • Automation of manual processes performed by engineers and technicians
  • Own Incident and Problem Management for controls and automation platforms
  • Assist with space, power and cooling capacity optimization projects and help identify Data Center reliability trends and risks
  • Create and oversee maintenance and operational procedures
  • Contribute to ensuring compliance with Data Center best practices and standards
  • Help establish an automation culture through peer mentoring and coaching


Requirements:
  • 4 year degree or equivalent experience
  • 4 years of experience with controls and automation
  • 4 years of experience in software development, coding and/or scripting
  • Experience with programming ladder logic
  • Understands concepts of package solutions and package specific programming language with knowledge of development objects
  • Demonstrates proficiency in at least one computer language and understands the concepts of distributed programming
  • Working knowledge of servers, switches, network protocols, and databases
  • Functional knowledge of mission critical power and cooling systems
  • Knowledge of engineering approaches in design, build, testing, debugging problems as required by domain
  • Experience using automation tools to improve energy efficiency and reliability
  • Experience managing projects and/or serving as technical lead for projects
  • Experience working in a data center environment
  • Ability to work flexible schedules (weekends, evenings, off shifts, on call) to support mission requirements
