As a Director of Process Innovation and Automation, you will work alongside business partners to improve process performance within an environment of continuous improvement and ensure the successful realization of business, financial, and operational outcomes. You will be responsible for partnering with Sr. Leadership to identify and develop opportunities that can address gaps in competencies and technology and team up to improve current performance. You will transform processes by leading a structured problem solving approach and collaborating with engineers to embed Intelligent Automation methods to boost performance while influencing partners in the business to drive top and bottom line impact for the organization.

In this role, you will lead the implementation of Target's Continuous Improvement and Process Excellence approach with teams such as Finance, Human Resources, Merchandising Support and Marketing across the entirety of their operations. This includes conducting gap analysis of program tactics, technology and capabilities required to achieve desired outcomes; developing automation strategies, tactics, and capability to support process innovation. You will also provide thought leadership in partnership with business owners to jointly define process deliverables, capability roadmaps, and success measures. Likewise, you'll coach teams through problem solving and execution phases and directly influence business owners to drive rigor in outcome development, supporting tactics, and process and technology.

You will also play a critical role instilling a Product Technology discipline, method and approach. You will be responsible for setting a vision, strategy and plan for your portfolio of product(s). You will develop and recommend OKR/metrics and creates corresponding data/analytics to track the health and business impact for a portfolio of product(s), as well as accountable to achieve and deliver the value in support of the OKRs across a portfolio of products. And as automation solutions get implemented you will become the "voice of the product" to outside stakeholders, advocating for your product and ensuring their needs are met and that the product team is getting the leadership and support that it needs to be successful.

You will need to cultivate strong relationships across the enterprise in order to drive collaboration and alignment with key partners and stakeholders across pyramids on both process and technology. You will be responsible for supporting the business and bringing judgement on addressing critical enablers such as required management decisions, resolution of cross-program interdependencies, and resource gaps. In partnership with SVP, Sr. Leadership, and Pyramid Leadership, you will develop critical leadership updates, risk and issue management, and resource deployment to achieve desired outcomes.

About You:
  • 4-year or advanced degree in Business or Engineering
  • 8-10+ years of experience in enterprise improvement roles with deep expertise in implementation of improvements at the operations level
  • Ability to drive high impact, cross-functional programs with senior leaders and overcome cultural challenges
  • An understanding of industry operational excellence practices and the competitive retail landscape
  • Strong knowledge of Lean and/or Six Sigma (Black Belt)
  • Experience with Intelligent Automation implementation (e.g., Robotics Process Automation, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence)
  • Experience working in an agile environment (e.g. user stories, iterative development, etc.)
  • Strong problem solving, synthesizing, and analytical skills
  • Ability to challenge the status quo, and work under ambiguous circumstances
  • Experience with technology and ability to facilitate communication between business and technology teams
  • Strong written, oral, communication, networking, and presentation skills
  • Experience leading, motivating, and developing direct reports.
  • Demonstrated and measurable experience in Continuous Improvement and Lean in an operations and business environment.
  • Occasional domestic and international travel required (about 10% of the time)
