LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST SENIOR

Position Description

This position is responsible to lead training efforts for the organization and for large scale projects. Collaborate with instructional designer, process analyst, and organizational change management lead to develop and implement training programs. Mentor department trainers in developing supporting materials and delivering training and preparing SMEs to conduct trainings sessions and support the business post go live.

Support transition from project implementation training to run-the-business training, and provide ongoing run-the-business training to departments across UCare. In collaboration with business departments, maintain training materials and ensure that overall training programs are aligned with business needs, compliance and regulatory requirements.

• Act as lead trainer by facilitating training, addressing training logistics, coordinating and organizing training sessions and driving the deployment of training.

• Coach, mentor and assist in prioritizing work of the other Learning and Development trainers (or others as needed) in support of developing training and supporting materials.

• Develop, maintain, and implement training curriculum and materials; in collaboration with Instructional Designers.

• Identify knowledge gaps as well as opportunities to enhance employee performance through additional training.

• Assist in the development of training outcomes including participant training metrics to establish competence; identify and implement improvements to training; develop reporting for measurement of training results through evaluation forms, quality numbers, and interviews with staff or consultations with leadership staff.

• Create and utilize standards for templates and materials supporting new content and curriculum development as needed.

• Perform administrative functions in the learning management system (LMS) to schedule courses, track attendance, and run basic reports.

• Maintain knowledge and skills of processes, policies, procedures, and systems within their training responsibilities.

• Coordinate and facilitate collaboration meetings with stakeholders to analyze training effectiveness, educate and drive staff performance; update training curriculum as needed.

• Manage training program; plan ahead by creating and executing a plan using data to map training needs for the year.

• Develop and manage relationships with other departments and committees, as needed.

• Plan, prioritize and identify training needs for new projects, initiatives and change, including preparation of communication tools.

• Other projects and duties as assigned.

Education

Four-year college degree in education, training, communications or human resources; demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Certification and/or active involvement in professional talent or training association highly desired.

Required Experience

Five years of experience with training and training program development. Experience with adult learning principles. Proficient in MS office.

Preferred Experience

Experience in a health insurance or managed care environment. Experience with e-learning applications and blended learning approaches. Supervisory or team lead experience or background in coaching and providing work direction.
