Position Summary

St. Catherine University invites applications for a WHIR Center Coordinator in the Women's Health Integrative Research ( WHIR ) Center.

The WHIR Center Coordinator is a part-time exempt position (0.5 FTE ; 20 hours per week). The coordinator will facilitate the safe and effective use of the WHIR Center for 8-10 undergraduate and graduate courses from across 6 departments within the Henrietta Schmoll School of Health and the School of Humanities, Arts, and Sciences. In addition, the coordinator will support ongoing collaborative research projects and professional development experiences for students. The coordinator will work directly with graduate student trainees to launch and sustain external research partnerships with local community members, corporate partners, and early state entrepreneurs in the local women's health industry. Specifically, the WHIR Coordinator should have working knowledge of lab equipment and associated software that includes: treadmills, exercise, heart rate monitors, metabolic measurement, equipment, force plates, motion tracking systems and other biomechanical measurement.

Responsibilities:
• Conduct administrative functions for the WHIR Center (purchasing of supplies, scheduling of events, maintaining lab inventory, etc)
• Coordinate WHIR Center lab space (scheduling space use, equipment maintenance/licensure renewal and setup, equipment reservations)
• Maintain an engaging social media and web presence highlighting current research, outreach, and partnerships within the WHIR Center and across the broader field of women's health.
• Maintain records of WHIR Center events and research projects for purposes of program showcasing, grant applications, and Center evaluation.
• Work with the WHIR Center Director to submit grant applications and identify opportunities for sustainable and scalable programming within the WHIR Center.
• Work with the WHIR Center Director to develop and maintain key relationships between on-campus and off-campus stakeholders (faculty, professional staff, students, alumni, local entrepreneurs).
• Coordinate events that raise the visibility of the WHIR Center and increase campus and community engagement.

Required Qualifications

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree Required.
• Background experience or training in one or more of the following areas: Biology, Physical Therapy, Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics, Food and Nutrition Science, Engineering, Public Health, Psychology, Women's Studies or a related area.
• Experience as part of a research team or with project management in a health-related field. Candidate must have strong project management skills and experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to interact professionally with a wide variety of people from multiple disciplines.
• The candidate should participate as a collegial, contributing member of a project team with faculty, staff, researchers, graduate students, undergraduate students and other stakeholders with a high level of independence, as appropriate.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and familiarity or willingness to be trained to use other programs associated with equipment calibration and operation.
• Experience with or ability to learn effective strategies for online communication via website and social media.
