Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid (Legal Aid) is seeking a Health Care Outreach Project Secretary for its St. Cloud office.  This position is grant funded and is a temporary nine-month position.  Ongoing funding is being sought.

BACKGROUND:  Legal Aid’s St. Cloud office provides civil representation to low-income people in nine central Minnesota rural counties.  Senior Law and Health Care Outreach are provided in additional counties.  The office receives funding from a variety of public and private sources and enjoys strong support from the organized bar.  Legal Aid does not receive funding from the Legal Services Corporation.  St. Cloud is a city of 60,000, located 65 miles northwest of Minneapolis/St. Paul.  There are three area colleges, community theaters, a thriving arts community, and easy access to state parks and the Lake Wobegon Bike Trail.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  The Project Secretary will provide support to the project navigators, including appointment scheduling, file creation, and outreach management.  The Project Secretary will also provide additional support activities as required to effectively and efficiently serve the agency’s clients.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Concern for the needs and rights of low-income persons and victims of domestic violence is required.  This position requires the ability to work positively within a law office, supporting co-workers while focusing on high-quality service to clients.  Second language skills are preferred.  Diverse economic, social, or cultural experiences are a plus.  Criminal background check will be required.  Proficiency using Microsoft Windows and Office is required.

SALARY:  The salary, $15.68 per hour, is based on the Legal Aid salary schedule.  Benefits include vacation, sick leave, family medical, life, and short-term/long-term disability insurance.

APPLICATIONS:  Applications preferred by September 16, 2019, open until filled.  Starting date will be negotiated.  Cover letter and resume should be submitted online at:  www.mylegalaid.org/employment.
