OVERVIEW

The University of St. Thomas invites qualified candidates to apply for a Dishwasher - Utility Food Service Worker position within Dining Services.

This position will work Tuesday through Saturday, mostly afternoon/evening hours. The position will require flexibility to work occasional nights and weekends.

JOB SUMMARY

The Dishwasher - Utility Food Service Worker is primarily responsible for working in the dish room to wash dishes, silverware, pots/pans, etc., to ensure proper operation of the dish machine, and to follow MN Department of Health sanitation procedures.

This position works a flexible schedule that may include nights and weekends as business levels dictate. This position is designated as Emergency Essential. Emergency Essential employees are expected to remain at work if campus closes during their regular work schedule or to report to work if the campus closing announcement is made before their regular work schedule begins.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Maintain operation of dish machine and clean kitchenwares according to MN Department of Health procedures.
  • Ensure dishroom standards are followed to result in clean, sanitary kitchenwares for residential dining and catering events
  • Clean dish machine after each meal period and as business levels dictate
  • Follow proper usage of three compartment sink, including testing sanitizer levels to adhere to food safety guidelines
  • Sweep, mop, empty trash and hog barrels as business levels dictate
  • Perform assigned daily and weekly cleaning tasks
  • Provide guidance to student employee and MSS workers as needed
  • Other tasks as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or its equivalent and two years experience in food service.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years work experience in high volume food service.

This position will work Tuesday through Saturday, mostly afternoon/evening hours. The position will require flexibility to work occasional nights and weekends.
