As a Graphic Designer, you will design world class creative for in-store marketing while working collaboratively with a creative team and Retail Brand Experience partners. Target's Retail Brand Experience team brings together in-store marketing, visual merchandising and packaging teams to create a connected, inspiring store experience through product presentation, environment and storytelling. In-store marketing punctuates and elevates product stories through messaging, photography, digital, experience and environmental design. You will create design systems, direct photographers, stylists and illustrators. As a designer, you will need the ability to collaborate well with other designers, copywriters and agency partners to develop creative and effective concepts from ideation through final creative. Organizing and planning details for multiple projects in order to meet project deadlines will be an expectation for this position. Critical to the role is staying current with the latest industry, fashion, graphic and technology trends and demonstrate application to projects. The ability to think and design dimensionally is especially desired. Experience with set design, propping and story-telling in a spatially aware manner is helpful in this role.

About you:
  • 4 year college degree and/or equivalent experience
  • Portfolio of samples demonstrating Target brand experience
  • 1-3 years experience
  • Possesses strong design skills with the ability to receive and interpret design direction
  • Makes timely and quick decisions in order to meet project deadlines
  • Has strong attention to detail
  • Possesses excellent problem solving, critical thinking, presentation and communication skills
  • Solid understanding of Macintosh computer and graphics industry software programs, including the CS3 suite: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop. Has an operational knowledge of font usage, file management and print and digital production.
  • Some experience in the following are highly desired: Architecture or Environmental design, Installation and display experience for retail or museums, Spatial design or other dimensional design experience. Visual merchandising or experience developing vignettes or displays.
  • A passion for story-telling and creating engaging, dimensional experiences that will engage and delight our guests.
