Job Details
The Business Relationship Manager (BRM) is responsible for understanding the business model and all business processes of the Division to which he/she is assigned; know the business unit's value and economic drivers; assist in the prioritization of IT-related projects and change requests; ensure that all IT projects and change requests on behalf of the business align with the technology that provides maximum return on investment; and direct IT strategy in support of the overall business strategy. The BRM serves as the advocate for the business to County Governance and IT, without external influences to sell products and solutions. The BRM facilitates and improves the effectiveness of business processes and communication, which in turn improves the organization as a whole. The BRM is the primary contact between the IT function and an assigned business unit, region, or corporate function. The BRM works with business partners and collaborators to reframe how their business and their system needs are viewed; tailors and links IT's capabilities to the business' specific goals; and asserts control to openly pursue Division goals productively.
MQs: Requires equivalency of a Bachelor's Degree (Master's in Business Administration or Master's in Science preferred) in Business, Computer Science, or Management Information Systems and seven years of experience in IT management, general management, or consulting, and a valid driver's license. Business Relations Management Professional (BRMP) certification is required and Certified Business Relationship Manager (CBRM) certification is preferred. Government experience preferred. Demonstrated experience with collaboration networks, service-oriented architectures, content management and automated workflow, business intelligence metrics and reports, application development and integration practices, analysis supporting Return On Investment and Total Cost of Ownership financial modeling, and Microsoft and SharePoint environments are preferred. One must possess an ability to manage multiple business relationships in a technical environment and influence successful strategies for technology-driven solutions.
