Description:
Sr Manager Roundel Accounting

About Us:

Target is an iconic brand, a Fortune 500 company and one of America's leading retailers.

Right on pace with Target's distinctive retail brand, Target Finance and Accounting are transforming for the better. As so much more than a behind-the-scenes number-cruncher, you will be a truly collaborative partner with a seat at the table. You'll bring your unique point of view, experience and passion for the work to your team and internal clients. Within Finance, you'll enjoy the interesting challenges of the competitive retail space, and you'll have a 360-degree impact-rather than on just one part of the business. You'll see your contributions come to life in virtually every area of this dynamic enterprise. And you'll grow and be challenged in your career while having a healthy balance with life outside of work

A role in accounting calls on your skills for quality financial and inventory reporting and accurate financials and technical accounting while providing thoughtful and responsive support, expertise and guidance to business partners. Your role will be critical to ensuring the success of Target's business initiatives and core retail operations.

As a Sr. Manager - Roundel Accounting, you will manage a team responsible for developing and overseeing accounting and financial processes, ensuring a timely and accurate accounting close and preparation of Roundel financial reports, and overseeing the execution of controls to ensure the accuracy of Roundel accounting, financial, and billing data. You will review journal entries and account reconciliations and ensure compliance with SOX and internal control guidelines. You will be an active partner in the forecast and goal process and will work closely with other groups within the Controller, Finance, and Marketing organizations. You will work on special projects and ad-hoc analysis. You will analyze data to drive improvements and communicate to Sr. Finance leadership. You will work to improve processes through automation or other tools.

Bring your passion for this rapidly evolving environment and have a hand in delivering the profitable financial results that benefit the entire business.

Core responsibilities are described within this job description. Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.

About you:
  • Four-year college degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 6+ years of accounting and internal controls experience
  • Well-developed problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Ability to effectively evaluate and improve end-to-end business processes to manage risk, maximize functionality, and improve business outcomes
  • Credible leader with ability to influence partners, and develop and motivate team members
  • Strong professional judgment, critical thinking, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated successful project management experience
  • Experience with marketing channels including digital, video, and social (preferred)
