A role in accounting calls on your skills for quality financial and inventory reporting and accurate financials and technical accounting while providing thoughtful and responsive support, expertise and guidance to business partners. Your role will be critical to ensuring the success of Target's business initiatives and core retail operations.

As an Accountant you will be responsible for executing accounting and financial processes, supporting a timely and accurate accounting close and preparation of Roundel financial reports, and executing controls to ensure the accuracy of accounting, financial, and billing data. You will prepare journal entries and account reconciliations timely and in compliance with SOX and internal control guidelines. You will work closely with other groups within the Controller, Finance, and Marketing organizations. You will develop strong internal and external relationships in order to influence partners and provide support. You will continuously work to improve process by using data and innovation.

About you:
  • Four-year college degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 1 to 4 years of prior accounting experience (preferred)
  • Strong technology skills, including process automation and advanced Excel capabilities
  • Resilient and adaptable, working through challenges and balancing a fluctuating workload in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work cross functionally; strong written / oral communication skills
  • Experience with marketing channels - inclusive of digital, traditional, video, and social (preferred)
  • Experience with SAP systems (preferred)
  • CPA or similar designation (preferred)
