PAYROLL AND HR COORDINATOR

Position Description

This position is responsible to accurately process bi-weekly payroll for employees. Ensure accurate and timely submission of payroll filing as well as prepare and process garnishments, levies and other required payment distributions. Also responsible to provide HR operations support related benefits or other identified need. Specific duties and responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate bi-weekly processing of payroll for all employees. Ensure accurate and timely submission. Receive and review payroll records for accuracy. Process manual checks as necessary.
  • Prepare and process garnishments, levies, etc. and ensure timely payment to third party.
  • Calculate retroactive salary increases, PTO payout, and other adjustments to regular payroll. Ensure withholdings, deductions, reimbursements are calculated and entered correctly and ensure compliance with applicable laws; including: RENEW, Community Giving, etc.
  • Collaborate with ADP, Accounting and applicable agencies to ensure accurate and timely set up for new state tax, time off policies, pay classes, earnings/deduction codes. Ensure accuracy of new policies.
  • Update payroll procedures regularly to ensure all steps are documented for back-up reference.
  • Maintain high understanding of payroll processing and laws to ensure UCare compliance with wage and hour laws. Attend year end wrap up sessions to ensure accurate end of year processing
  • Serve as first point of contact for benefit questions and enrollment. Ensure timely entry of benefits, calculate imputed income, ensure compliance with COBRA requirements, etc. Audit basic life and child life insurance quarterly and collaborate with HR Generalist with benefit enrollment issues.
  • Provide support to the department with maintain filing, handle and create correspondence, process verification of employment and other requests or projects as necessary.
  • Serve as administrator for CONUR to ensure employee reimbursements are routed accurately.
  • Collaborate with Accounting to ensure timely funding of payroll related activities. Coordinate invoice processing for HR team.


Education

Bachelor's degree preferred; demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of degree. APA certification preferred.

Required Experience

Three years of payroll processing experience. Experience working with state tax laws, employer tax, unemployment insurance and bank reconciliation. Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Preferred Experience

Experience processing payroll using ADP.
