PROCESS IMPROVEMENT SUPERVISOR

Position Description

This position is responsible to lead and manage Process Improvement Analysts (PIA) within the PMO. This includes performing process improvement tasks while leading process improvement analysts. Oversee team to ensure current process documentation is captured, and identify how efficiencies can be gained in new flow documentation.

• Lead Process Improvement staff to achieve project or request deliverables that are commensurate with their roles.

• Lead UCare staff and contracted resources. Responsible for hiring, and retaining qualified staff, conducting performance appraisals, goal development and workload oversight.

• Direct the activity of process mapping plus data gathering to develop current state models and identify root causes of waste for elimination in future processes.

• Confirm project documentation and artifacts such as, process flow diagrams, rapid assessments, work outs, etc. as defined by the PMO, are created and maintained for the life of the project, through closure or as requested by business.

• Support project stakeholders, business resources, and IT project managers who are managing projects within their departments via proper staff allocation.

• Manage and keep current the PIA Community of Practice to ensure participants as well as content remain current and relevant.

• Affirm creation of repeatable processes that are shared with stakeholders, business resources and project leadership to validate consistent development application.

• Support the development of project budgets and cost benefit analyses during annual budgeting and during Portfolio Refresh.

• Acquire and maintain current knowledge of industry practices, trends, and techniques.

• Other projects and duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in business administration or a related field; demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Required Experience

Five years of process improvement, hands on knowledge. One year of experience leading dynamic, creative and resourceful teams concentrated in the art of process improvement. Experience leading complex, multi-year enterprise-wide programs.

Preferred Experience

Experience working in both enterprise and technology-focused PMOs, preferably in a health care setting. Experience leading highly effective teams with process improvement or business analysis preferred. Business Process or Lean Six Sigma certification (or equivalent training) preferred. Expertise in Agile project management methodologies a plus.
