Our client, located in Elmhurst,  is looking for a fashion focused Lead Buyer/ Product Developer to join their team.  If you love fashion, trends, consumer insights, and knowing what is in  and what is no!, Then consider joining our tight knit team.  If you’re a creative thinker with unrivaled market instincts, this role is for you.  As a Lead Buyer for retailers worldwide, you will:

  • Conduct market research to develop new and existing products/brands
  • Communicate product/brand ideas to stakeholders
  • Coordinate with creative teams to develop products/brands
  • Work with vendors to negotiate cost, materials and product design
  • Create initial purchase orders for new products
  • Attend trade shows

  • Minimum 3 years product buying and/or product development experience
  • Ability to interact and negotiate with overseas vendors
  • Thorough knowledge of general merchandising
  • Work well in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to spot and track trends
  • An eye for fashion and an appreciation for design
  • Knowledge of Mandarin a bonus
