OVERVIEW

The University of St. Thomas Graduate School of Professional Psychology (GSPP) invites applicants for a full-time clinical faculty position to serve as Co-Director of the University's Interprofessional Center (IPC) and Director of Psychological Services within the Center to begin mid-December 2019. This is a 12-month position with administration, teaching, supervision, and direct clinical service as its primary elements.

The IPC brings three disciplines together, psychology, social work, and law, to advance social justice through service and advocacy with underserved individuals and communities through transformative educational experiences for students. The IPC is a free clinic that provides legal services, consultation, psychological assessment, case management, and counseling and psychotherapy to uninsured or underinsured individuals in the downtown Minneapolis area. The Psychological Services Co-Director, along with the other Co-Directors (social work & law), manage the day-to-day operation of the IPC and establishes the mission and vision of the Center. All three Co-Directors are involved in orienting new students to the IPC and co-present a variety of in-clinic classes designed for students of all three disciplines including interprofessional ethics, secondary trauma, psychological assessment, and an expert/lay witness simulation experience. The three Co-Directors and other IPC faculty and staff participate together in a weekly IPC staff meeting and the Co-Directors meet on a bi-weekly basis to engage in continued planning.

In the Co-Director role, this position supervises clinic staff, oversees the budget for the psychological services arm of the IPC, creates public relations materials and develops liaisons with community agencies for referrals, makes presentations on behalf of the IPC (including scholarly presentations on interdisciplinary collaboration), develops and implements strategies for seeking external funding, and establishes program evaluation mechanisms and evaluates program results.

This position also involves serving as a full-time member of the GSPP core faculty. This involves teaching one course per year in the GSPP's MA and/or doctoral program in counseling psychology. The Psychology Co-Director is a member of the School's "administrative team" consisting of the School Chair, the Director of Training (doctoral), MA Program Director, and two professional staff and also participates in weekly GSPP faculty meetings as part of the interdependent team approach that characterizes the GSPP's operations and implementation of academic programs. Additional duties (such as serving on doctoral dissertation committees) are negotiable.

The Psychology Co-Director serves as the Associate Training Director for an APA-accredited doctoral psychology internship partnership with North Memorial Health, a health system in the Twin Cities area that serves a diverse population of individuals, primarily on the north side of Minneapolis and the near-north suburbs. The internship is affiliated with the GSPP and open only to GSPP doctoral students in Match 1. The position involves supervising a part-time psychologist whose duties are related to the internship and providing didactic training. The position serves as direct supervisor and co-facilitates a "supervision of supervision" experience for the interns as well as provision of supervision for psychotherapy, psychological assessment and diagnostics. This position actively participates in the intern selection process for the upcoming training year and co-facilitates monthly Internship Training Committee meetings. The two Training Directors work closely together to assure smooth functioning of the Internship throughout the year and incorporate changes and improvements as needed.

The Psychology Co-Director also provides supervision of practicum students from the GSPP. This primarily involves supervising students in a doctoral assessment practicum involving training and supervision in test administration involving instruments such as (but not limited to) the MMPI-2-RF, the MCMI-IV, the SCID-5, the CAPS-5, the SIRS-2, and various career testing/counseling procedures (which includes a review of the MBTI, the SII, the SDS, and the CPI). Psychological testing is an integral activity for the Center's interdisciplinary work and training includes assisting students in their collaboration with Law and Social Work (e.g. in the context of immigration law cases).

Finally, the position involves seeing a small caseload of psychotherapy or testing clients through the Center in order to provide a model for students and enrich teaching in addition to directly impacting the Center's client population.

The Graduate School of Professional Psychology (GSPP) consists of eleven full-time faculty and offers programs that educate and train doctoral-level psychologists and master's-level professional counselors and marriage and family therapists. The doctoral program is accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) in Health Service Psychology and the specialty of Counseling Psychology. The GSPP along with the School of Social Work and a School of Nursing (yet to be founded) are joining a new College of Health at the university that has a new Dean. Other areas (e.g. physician's assistant, physical therapy) will be explored. The vision of the new College is to train health care professionals for a future that includes serving diverse communities in a community health context, leveraging emerging health care technology, and emphasizing relationship and empathy as core competencies. QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

• A doctoral degree from an APA-accredited program in counseling and/or clinical psychology
• Licensed or license-eligible in the state of Minnesota as a psychologist
• Prior teaching experience is required, particularly in the area of psychological assessment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience to bring a blend of administrative, clinical supervision, teaching and practice (in both psychological assessment and psychotherapy)
• We strongly prefer applicants with prior interdisciplinary experience as well as knowledge relating to assessment and forensics
• Experience in assessing adults and adolescents
• We seek an applicant with a unique set of skills including training and supervision experience (of both psychotherapy and assessment), strong psychological assessment skills including personality, cognitive and career assessment, along with appreciation and awareness of cultural issues in assessment and therapy
• The ability to contribute to the scholarly literature in areas pertinent to the work of the Center is a plus
