Description:
Target Global Supply Chain and Logistics is evolving at an incredible pace. We are constantly reimagining how we get the right product to the right guest even better, faster and more cost effectively than before. We are becoming more intelligent, automated and algorithmic in our decision-making, so that no matter how guests shop-in stores or on Target.com-we deliver the convenience and immediate gratification they demand and deserve. We are on a mission to win decisively over any competitor, with a seamless and superior guest service experience unlike any they can offer. Our teams work with the agility our mission requires, and we constantly come together to implement new processes in record time. So we're looking for exceptional people who are proactive, creative, independent, innovative, risk-savvy and comfortable working in varying degrees of ambiguity. Are you a critical thinker who seeks the root cause and can analyze both qualitatively and quantitatively? Are you a creative problem-solver who simplifies problems, quickly identifies solutions, commits to a plan and then positively influences others to execute it? If so, you will have success on one of our dynamic teams.

A role in Inventory Control & Quality (ICQA) means the opportunity to contribute to an emerging new team that's adding smart and capable people all the time. You will create measures within our value stream mapping to identify, reduce or eliminate inventory inaccuracies and defects. You will apply data science, analytics and your impressive technical and logistical aptitudes to make sure that the correct product arrives and is received at our distribution centers; and that its movements-from the very first mile through middle to last-mile logistics-are precisely tracked. Your passion meets your vision when it comes to working the data, solving problem statements, gap analysis and asking the all-important question of "What if ... ?"

As a Sr. Process Engineer, you'll design, develop, and implement inventory control and quality assurance processes in support of Target's long-term supply chain strategy. In this role, you will work in close alignment with the Operations Research team (ICQA), field teams, and technical product owners to define and develop new quality standards, and build and test operational controls to reduce first mile defects. Process engineers will be expected follow a rigorous and disciplined approach to collecting and analyzing data to effectively determine and prove solutions before scaling throughout the value chain.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Min 5 years experience in operations management for manufacturing or distribution facilities
  • Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement and/or process engineering principles (inclusive of Lean/Six Sigma methodologies) to create solutions for large scale operations with many interdependencies
  • Demonstrated experience in deep problem scoping/assessment through value stream mapping, project management, process development, and process engineering
  • Demonstrated experience in problem solving through data and analytics and applying solutions across broad-scale operations
  • Proven experience achieving results through project management
  • Strong ability to think critically and creatively from problem scoping to solution development
  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, statistics, or supply chain

Desired Requirements:
  • Advanced degree in engineering
  • Inventory control/quality assurance experience
  • Six sigma certification (black belt)
  • Experience working in an Agile framework
  • Experience in Target's Regional Distribution network within the inbound process path
