A role in Labor Relations means counseling and supporting your partners in the field or headquarters in ensuring a positive, comfortable and inclusive environment for all. Your work will have a positive impact across the operation on the exceptional quality Target offers as a workplace.

Provide advice in areas specific to Labor Relations to stores and distribution centers. Work under general guidance to ensure that the LR advice provided represents the organization's brand, philosophy and open door culture. Identify contributing factors and root causes that pose LR risk. Investigate allegations of misconduct which includes gathering/reviewing relevant documentation, interviewing witnesses, questioning subjects and documenting cases. Build great team and client relationships.

  • Accurately diagnose issues that present credible labor concern for the company.
  • First point of contact for field locations when organizing activity arises in a location.
  • Implement action plans and provides tools to diffuse organizing activity.
  • Implement long-term preventive labor plans.
  • Support labor organizing campaigns as a persuader.
  • Ensure all LR trainings programs and practices are implemented in a timely manner.
  • Lead key internal LR team projects.
  • Implement individual market strategies that close culture gaps.
  • Minimum 50% travel requirement.

About you:
  • Four year degree
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience
  • Experience working in a retail Distribution Center and/or Store
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong ability to establish effective, trusted team and client relationships
  • Demonstrate ability to perform work with broad and general guidance rather than direction.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to interact at all levels of the organization

DESIRED REQUIREMENTS:
  • Previous ER, LR or HR experience
