Job Description Summary

Work closely with business and technology partners across the Global Supply Chain & Logistics (GSCL) organization to advance transportation capabilities for the future operating model through strategy development, problem analysis, activating and managing initiatives and unlocking value through iterative releases. Track issues, risks, dependencies, metrics, and results. Support cross-functional governance activities across transportation, such as project intake, sequencing of major activities, or coordination of major functions across different parts of the organization. Partner with a diverse set of teams, including International Logistics, Inbound and Outbound transportation teams, Network Planning, Inventory Planning & Control, external vendors, various Product teams, and more. Deliver on the objectives within each space to support the overall future transportation strategy efficiently and effectively. This role requires an individual who is curious, has strong executional and collaborative abilities, and is comfortable navigating in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develop strategies and business value cases for enhancements or fundamental changes to various transportation-related processes, protocols, and network configuration.
  • Define business problems and conduct detailed problem analysis to identify root causes and potential solutions.
  • Structure approach to initiative management and conduct milestone planning and sequencing across portfolio of transportation work in partnership with cross-functional teams.
  • Develop and administer timetables and coordinate resources to ensure that initiatives are completed on-time and in service to the overall strategy.
  • Delegate and influence across a diverse set of support and stakeholder groups, ensuring a common understanding of goals and objectives, and identifying and monitoring tasks to ensure timetables are met and resources are coordinated properly.
  • Monitor operations to evaluate results.
  • Proactively identify risks and dependencies and drive resolution.
  • Track project expenses against budget as needed based on initiative.
  • Work with Sr. Leaders (Directors, Sr. Directors) to gain support and prioritization of initiatives.
  • Coordinate effective governance of cross-team activities, driving one or more major activity areas (Examples: Project intake, product team coordination, carrier segmentation).
  • Provide inputs to other GTL functions, such as metrics development, analytics, and financial modeling.

Minimum Requirements and key competencies:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Demonstrated structured problem solving experience
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex projects or programs and comfortability with project management tools
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills that can be tailored to different audiences and environments
  • Ability to think in terms of the future state, challenging the status quo, and identifying paths from current to future state
  • Understanding of financial modeling
  • Analytical curiosity and competency to drive data-driven decisions
  • Highly flexible and comfortable working in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage multiple parallel efforts within a complex, highly matrixed organization
  • Comfortable navigating and leading through ambiguous situations, across diverse stakeholders, and influencing without authority

Desired requirements:
  • Experience in transportation and/or related supply chain experience, particularly import experience
  • Experience developing or launching new business capabilities and/or experience in strategy development or consulting
  • Degree in supply chain or supply chain related discipline or MBA
  • Experience using various analytical tools - R, SQL, Excel, etc.
  • Experience working within Agile methodology
  • Certifications: Lean/Six Sigma, PMP
