As an Engineer in Enterprise Storage, you'll make a difference via a diverse cross section of the following technologies and skill sets...

Contribute to the transformation of traditional storage delivery to Software Defined Storage (SDS) services across all protocols (block, file & object) and API-based consumption of storage from vendor based and open source infrastructure. Develop and gain insight into consumer requirements and storage architecture and participate in changes to accelerate feature development and improve the quality, reliability and performance of services leveraging the mindset of a site reliability engineer. Display good problem-solving skills to help the team in triaging operational issues. Leverage your expertise in eliminating repeat occurrences.

Evaluate new technologies and participate in decision-making, accounting for several factors such as viability within Target's technical environment, maintainability, and cost of ownership.

Participate in non-routine construction, automation, and implementation activities, ensuring successful implementation with architectural and operational requirements and best practices met.

About You:
  • 4 year degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of combined experience in either or both
    • software development experience with a passion for infrastructure
    • infrastructure experience with development (coding) experience
  • Demonstrates broad expertise in multiple computer languages and frameworks (e.g., open source, Java, Python/Flask, GO, RESTful architecture)
  • Proficient in utilizing CI/CD technologies (GIT, Chef, Jenkins, Drone, Artifactory, etc.) and configuration management products such as Ansible, Chef or Puppet
  • Delivers high-availability, high-performance, scalable, repeatable, and secure storage sub-systems with broad impact (high throughput and low latency) using both open source and vendor based products (i.e. Ceph, Minio, NetApp, DellEMC, etc.)
  • Demonstrates strong technical knowledge of server, operating systems (linux, SSH, shells, KVirt, VMWare, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.), network (firewalls, port communication, DNS, load balancing, etc.), database (PostGres, MySQL, Redis, etc.), storage hardware and attachment protocols (SCSI, iSCSI, Fibre Channel, NFS, CIFS)
  • Demonstrates expertise in analysis and optimization of storage capacity, performance, and operational health
  • Applies and maintains knowledge of new and evolving technologies within the technology domain via formal training and self-directed education
