BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Position Description

This position is responsible to manage market research and analysis for leadership and key cross functional teams. Responsibilities include market research for new business opportunities, management of UCare competitive market analyses, and enrollment forecasting for annual budget and bid submissions.

• Analyze new business opportunities through conducting market research, providing analysis and pro forma development, and monitoring market intelligence in the industry related to new opportunities.

• Support creation of industry, market and competitive intelligence to assist strategic decision-making.

• Lead a cross-functional team that develops annual enrollment projections for all relevant UCare products for bids, the budget, and expansions or strategic initiatives.

• Manage company-wide market research and analysis requests to inform key strategic decisions.

• Serve as consultant to UCare leadership, as well as other relevant areas as company lead for market research.

• Stay up-to-date and well informed on health care insurance market to identify opportunities for new business opportunities.

• Develop periodic environmental scans and provide insights of competitive and market intelligence to complement UCare's strategic planning process and to drive new business development.

• Prepare and present analyses and recommendations to support strategic planning and inform business decisions.

• Other projects and duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, health care/public administration, and/or related field required.

Required Experience

Five years of experience in a health plan or service-based organization with product/market/research and analysis responsibilities. Experience with leading analysis and planning activities, using data to inform strategies, as well as summarizing and presenting information.

Preferred Experience

Strategic experience within a health plan working with external provider organizations. Know of state and federal health care programs.
