Job Details
Due to our client’s rapid growth, we are seeking an individual who is self-motivated, able to work independently as well as part of a team, to fill the role of Payroll Specialist. Candidates need to be able to demonstrate a proven track record processing end to end payroll for a mid-size company. The Payroll Specialist performs payroll-related functions, including payroll processing, payroll tax compliance, automated timekeeping systems and payroll reporting in a multi-site, multi-state, high-volume environment. The Payroll Specialist provides excellent customer service to managers and associates and is well versed in payroll compliance, taxes and reporting.
Responsibilities:
• Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
• Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
• Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits
• Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance
• Record payroll information in the accounting system
• Maintain vacation and absence records
• Perform payroll analysis as required
• Ensure accurate/timely payment of payroll taxes and other withholdings
• Review employees’ expenses and travel reports and its proper documentation to ensure accuracy according to the company’s policy
• Ad Hoc duties and projects as assigned
• Resolve employee inquiries
• Assist with month end close including reconciliations and journals
• Assist with quarter end and year end audits
Requirements:
• Fun personality, ability to work with a very engaged team
• 4+ years of payroll experience
• Knowledge in Kronos timekeeping system
• Knowledge and practical experience with local, state and federal government laws for payroll and accounting
• Tech Savvy
• Detail Oriented
• Clear communicator
• Good problem-solver
