Job Details

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Required to become familiar with all types of material handling equipment and able to operate in a safe manner.
  • Perform inventory counts, adjustments and controls for material being allocated as required.
  • Checks on material requirement needs of departmental personnel and keeps the work stations continually supplied in order to minimize production delays.
  • Inspects the thickness, dimension, alloy and general quality of material.
  • Safely handle and transport material into and out of racking system and into and out of all departments and staging areas.
  • Ensures all aisles and machine entrances are clear.
  • Accurately maintains all necessary paper work.
  • Periodically checks and inspects inventory for proper count and content.
  • Updates business system with standard location changes and comments.
  • Verifies tags and labels for proper identifications. Relays information to Inventory Control Department to check validity of inventory.
  • Work safely at all times and comply with safety regulations regarding the use of protective equipment and devices.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area including designated equipment.  
  • Use veneers, calipers, rulers and scales and other such measuring devices to verify specifications and tolerances.
  • Performs other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as directed by team-leader.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, individually and as a team member. 
  • Requires the ability to operate a variety of standard material handling and overhead material handling equipment. 
  • High school or equivalent plus one to two years of setup and operating experience Forklift experience is required. Certification a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to read and use measuring equipment such as veneers, micrometers, and tape measures.
  • Ability to convert whole numbers into decimals.  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
